In Memoriam

Donald McPhee Reid

It is with profound sadness and grief that we must inform you of the passing of our dearly loved husband and father. Don suffered a massive stroke on August 5 and could not overcome the devastating effects. Hamilton General and the nurses were wonderful; they did everything they could.

Don was the loved husband of Jeanne for 54 years and the proud father of Scott, Cameron and Derek (Tracey). Tracey and Don had a special bond. His dear grandson, Dash in B.C., mourns his passing. He was predeceased by his loving daughter-in-law Rachel. Also mourned by sister-in-law Wendy Hamilton and her family. Many thanks to Tori Hamilton for her care and concern.

Don had a successful career at Provincial Paper and Fraser Paper Co. (Noranda). As Vice President of Sales he made many lasting friends and was respected by all.

In the recent past, he has devoted his time to Clan Donnachaidh (Robertson). He was the Ontario President and an active member in CASSOC (Clans and Scottish Societies of Canada). Don was very proud of his Scottish heritage and truly loved his work with the Clan. He will be missed.

He was a voracious reader and delighted in loaning out his treasured books to many.
He loved to play bridge and made many friends over the years at the bridge table.
Don loved sport and politics.
He was an avid scuba diver earlier in life and was always a true Blue Jays fan. We had Buffalo Bills season tickets for 25 years.
Summer holidays were spent in Maine and winter in Arizona. With Muskoka, Kawartha, they were his favourite places on earth.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. We will plan a reception and Celebration of Life in mid-October. If you would like to remember him with a donation, he loved animals and his Scottish Heritage.br> They could be made to Clan Donnachaidh Centre, Bruar, Pitlochry, PH185TW, Scotland, UK
or to CASSOC, www.cassoc.ca/donations.htm
He would be honoured.
